“After the storm, it’s just too icy,” Will Haher, Dayton resident, said. “Then, even though I have a truck, the tires aren’t really that good, so you’re still sliding a lot.”

Daher says he doesn’t mind the storm but doesn’t want to get stuck.

The Public Works Department was not available for comment Thursday, but we did contact them before Monday’s winter storm.

“We’ll be there sometime tomorrow. We just don’t want to overcommit on, you know, saying that we’ll be there early in the morning. But certainly that’s our goal, is to be into the residential tomorrow,” Director of Dayton Public Works Thomas Ritchie said.

John Hipsher says he appreciates the city crews for the amount of hours they’ve put in recently.

“If you think about it, these guys are busy, right? They’ve got all this to do, and then, you know you’ve got you’re in your house and you’re supposed to be nice and comfortable and just wait it out. That’s my opinion,” Hipsher said.

News Center 7 will continue to follow weather impacts as winter storms move through the area.
