This is from the Morning Zoo food vault, where food is our most important subject in life.
#1 Coke pulls plug on “permanent flavor” - Around six months ago Coke introduced a new flavor called “Coca-Cola Spiced.” It was left up to the drinker to determine what spiced really meant, and it looks like the consumers gave it a big thumbs down. Just months after announcing it was a permanent addition to its drink lineup, they’ve pulled the flavor. We on the Zoo didn’t really get it, I will take a Diet Coke or Coke Zero any day over a flavored version.
#2 Uncrustables announced a new item - It’s the first new jelly flavor they’ve introduced in over ten years and it’s coming out. It’s “raspberry” filling. Sounds wonderful to us and definitely on our list to try.
#3 7UP is rumored to be launching a brand-new soda inspired by the Shirley Temple mocktail for the holiday season. The Shirley Temple has been around for decades and ecades, so I wonder why it’s taken so long to can it? The non-alcoholic drink is traditionally made with lemon-lime soda or ginger ale and a splash of grenadine. No word yet on what this 7UP flavor contains. Again, this is tops on our bucket list to try.
Bonus fact: New data shows that McDonald’s sells 6.5 billion burgers each year, with about 75 burgers being served every second worldwide. McDonald’s is likely approaching its 400 billionth burger milestone. We probably have eaten at least 1000 of these personally in our lifetime.
