McDonalds just made a huge announcement that will save you money!

It’s the deal that kicked off the great fast food value wars of 2024.

Back in June McDonald’s kicked off a fast-food deal where for $5 you can get an entire meal of either a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, a four-piece Chicken McNuggets order, small fries and a small soft drink. That’s a really good deal in this environment where people are reporting paying upwards of $15 for other fast food meals around the country.

This apparently is working very well as people are clinging to value now in the fast-food space. It’s working so well that other chains like Wendy’s and Taco Bell offered value meal options that include a ton of food for a low price. Even sit down restaurants like Olive Garden and Chili’s are getting in on the deals.

McDonalds was upfront that this would end in the fall.

But they’ve announced that in most markets they plan to keep the $5 meal on the menu until December.

Here’s hoping they make it a permanent addition, but we’ll have to wait until December to find out if they extend it again.
