Active Weather: Big winds today so stay safe

Storm damage Severe storms moved through the area Friday, June 29, causing major damage and power outages. A tree and light pole were blown over near Patterson Blvd.

Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida Thursday and is impacting the Miami Valley.

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Butler, Greene, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren counties starting at noon until 10 p.m. on Friday.

We’re being told that some wind gusts can be over 60mph, so this adds a layer of danger and complexity to the situation.
